Job Description

The Creative Director will translate the essence of the brand DNA into a Creative Vision that brings to life the brand identity (visual identity and tone of voice) across every internal and external touchpoint. Using these brand codes as a guide, the Creative Director drives the brand’s success by leading the visioning, development, and execution of inspiring and aspirational creative, marketing, content, and packaging that reflects the brand’s clear point of view.

A successful candidate will possess an excellent visual aesthetic, be a strategic thinker, and a highly effective operator, able to see the holistic picture, ideate, and execute. They will own bringing the brand codes to life across all marketing, photography, video, web/social media properties, store design, retail POS displays and signage, private label product branding and packaging, etc. Additionally, this leader must possess a transformational mindset, evolving how the team is organized and develops into a true social-first content engine. They will be agile and scrappy, championing AI, automation, and new ways of working to drive the effectiveness and efficiency of our creative engine.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Creative Vision that brings to life the brand identity (visual identity and tone of voice).
  • Bring the brand codes to life across marketing, photography, video, web/social media properties, store design, retail POS displays and signage, private label product branding and packaging, etc.
  • Lead the creative, visual, and content direction for all elements of the brand.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing & Merchandising to develop seasonal themes, big ideas, and campaigns.
  • Organize cross-functional creative ideation sessions and reviews of campaign strategies, direction, and playbooks that allow for collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Scale content creation, including marketing, engaging social and brand YouTube channel, and email creative.
  • Translate brand codes to store design/visual merchandising principles (in partnership with visual team) as well as private label signature branding and packaging (in partnership with product development).
  • Manage functional budget including annual budget planning, spend tracking, and end of month close out activity. Maintain tight fiscal and budget responsibility on all assigned projects.
  • Optimize team structure, workflow, processes, and tools to enable the creative team to work efficiently and produce top-tier work product while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Transform how the team develops content by championing AI, automation, and new ways of working to drive effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Recruit, manage, motivate, mentor, and develop internal team and external partners.

Job Requirements:

  • 15+ years of creative experience, with 5+ as a seasoned Creative Director for lifestyle brands.
  • Expertise in creative and content development across marketing, digital, retail, product, and packaging.
  • Strong conceptual design development and technical skills to lead art direction, photo direction, video direction, graphic artists, and web developers.
  • Excellent operational skills, including planning, budgeting, organizational, and project management.
  • Ability to operate nimbly with a limited budget and resources.
  • Champion of AI, automation, innovation, and transforming how the team operates.
  • Strong leadership skills — ability to manage, motivate, and develop internal team and external partners.
  • Comfortable in a small, rapidly growing entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to both lead others and roll up their sleeves with hands-on work.
