THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Custodian position performs sanitary and contract services at designated contracts. This designated contract supports the CDC (Child Development Center) and the Custodian is responsible for cleaning classrooms daily.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The position is part time, over 30 hours weekly, and should expect a flexible work schedule. Must be available to work all possible shifts including weekends.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

· Collects and disposes of trash in assigned locations.

· Sweeps entryways and cleans walk-off mates. When appropriate, remove snow from entrances and sidewalks. Pick up litter around building(s) and in parking areas.

· Dust mops hallways, corridors, and other assigned areas.

· Cleans restrooms to include moping, disinfecting fixtures.

· Replenishes paper and soap products as required.

· Cleans and polishes mirrors and fixtures.

· Sanitizes and polishes water fountains.

· Vacuums offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.

· Restocks maintenance carts with appropriate supplies.

· Exercises hazardous communications to include interpretation of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Performs high/low dusting and window cleaning.

· Spray buffs, scrubs and waxes hard surface floors.

· Dispenses chemicals/identifies and correct potential safety hazards.

· Performs carpet extractions and spot removals.

· Attend training seminars, in-service sessions, and staff meetings.

· Responsible for maintaining training compliance in accordance with FRA policies and procedures, state and federal regulations.

· Performs other duties, as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred.

· Cleaning/janitorial experience, preferred.

· Must be able to drive and have reliable transportation.

· Annual Child Abuse Certification

· Immunizations - Annual PPD Test

· Immunizations - Hepatitis B immunization (or) Waiver

· Immunizations - Provide shot records

· Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

· Physical effort includes stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

· Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes (i.e. warehouses,

covered loading docks, garages, etc.)

· Worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather.

· Worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the surrounding noise level

· Worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, orders, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
