Compensation: $18/hour
Weekly Commitment: Minimum of 20 hours, Maximum of 28 hours (Could be full-time if applicant is available)
Job Description General: The Ministry Resident will take on a variety of roles in order to grow in his/her knowledge and development of his/her own giftings and passions as well as utilizing these gifts and passions to positively lead and impact the local church. The primary focus of this residency will be within our Family Ministries: Avenue Kids and Avenue Students.
Short and Long Term Ministry Implications: The purpose of the residency is for the resident to sense where God is calling his/her in this new season of ministry as well as for Avenue to evaluate the potential of a long-term fit within the staff and church. There will be quarterly check-ins with the Senior Pastor to evaluate progress, calling, giftings and passions. By the end of the residency, the hope is that he/she will have clear next steps in his/her ministry journey.

• Maintain strict safety-conscious guidelines for family ministries.
• Coordinate and engage adults and students in serving.
Job Role and Responsibilities Overview:
· Kids Ministry (45%) is currently defined as Nursery – 4 th grade.
o Avenue Kids programming happens during the 10am service.
§ Nursery: 0-2 years old
§ Pre-K: 2-5 years old
§ Elementary: Kindergarten – 4 th grade
o Kids have a variety of events and programs throughout the year
§ Storytime with Ms. Kathy, Bunny Hop, Camp Firelight, etc.
· Kids Responsibilities:
o Be the primary leader/teacher for the Elementary programming once a month.
o Administratively support the Kids Director in providing curriculum and supplies to all volunteer teachers for all children’s ministry levels.
o Ministry area preparation, including but not limited to setup, cleaning, decoration and organization.
o Sunday Morning preparations and clean up, including assisting the Kids Director and Student Pastor in room set ups, check in, welcome, and end of the morning cleaning up.
o Help children develop their love for God, his Word and for people around them.
o Assist the Kids Director in recruiting and inspiring volunteers to do the work of the ministry.
o In cooperation with the Family Ministry team and Senior Pastor, evaluate and stay committed to a spiritual growth plan for teaching and student discipleship in connection to a strategic teaching scope and sequence.
o Maintain safety-conscious guidelines in partnership with the Kids Director.
o Other related ministry responsibilities, as needed.
· Student Ministry (35%) is currently defined as 5th-12th grades (MS: 5-8. HS: 9-12).
o Middle School Bible Study, Sunday Mornings, 10am.
o High School Youth Group, Sunday after church, 11:30am.
o Middle School Youth Group, Wednesday Nights, 6:30pm.
o Both groups participate in monthly activities and yearly big events/trips.
§ Summer Camp, Off-Site Activities, Serving Opportunities, etc.
· Student Responsibilities:
o In partnership with the Student Pastor, weekly pre-programming preparation, including but not limited to curriculum review, game and activity preparation, shopping for supplies, scheduling volunteers, etc.
o Partnering with the Student Pastor for Daily/Consistent posting and interaction on the Ave_Students Instagram account.
o Primary small group leader for girls in middle school and high school.
o Weekly connections with female students outside of weekly gatherings.
o Teaching once a month in Middle School Sunday mornings and teaching when needed in High School Bible Study and Middle School Youth Group.
o Maintain safety-conscious guidelines in partnership with the Student Pastor.
o Other related ministry responsibilities, as needed.
· Technology Ministry (10%) includes our digital discipleship and evangelism strategy.
o Weekly email and texting communication
o Consistent social media posting and engagement
o Graphic design for promotion of church ministries
o Website and App updating
§ Capture video footage once a month on Sunday mornings
· Other Responsibilities (10%)
o Weekly Staff Meetings and Direct Report Meetings
o Monthly Family Ministry Meetings
o Monthly Programming Staff Meetings
o Administrative Tasks as needed to assist other staff
