Education and Experience:
Level I - Entry level of a series. Beginning proficiency in sign language (American Sign Language and/or Signed English). Able to interpret non-complex, non-technical subject matter independently on a limited basis as determined by the Director or recognized evaluator; assists in the advancement of skill level and proficiency of services provided to deaf and hard of hearing students. Possession of the following certifications or equivalent certification from the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), Registry Interpreters of the Deaf (RID), or National Association of the Deaf (NAD): Interpreting Training Program (ITP) Certification, Educational Interpreters Proficiency Assessment (EIPA).This is a professional expert position. The District reserves the right to extend, modify, or eliminate this position based upon available funds. The effective dates of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
