Job Description

The Choice is a women-owned and women-led staffing and recruitment firm specializing in placing great candidates at mission-driven nonprofits and associations in the DC area. We are seeking a people-focused, business-minded Recruiter to support our internal team during a maternity leave.

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid/ Mostly Remote)

Duration: We are looking to have someone start with us as soon as possible for overlap and training, and work with us until May 2026.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage new staffing requests and full-cycle recruiting: conducting intake calls with external nonprofit clients/hiring managers, posting job listings, sourcing and screening candidates, interviewing, submitting candidates, and supporting the candidate interview process with our clients until a selection is made
  • Maintain strong relationships with candidates and clients
  • Support and consult employees throughout the assignment- checking in on their assignments, conducting check in calls, receiving and sharing feedback, etc.
  • Collaborate and support the recruitment team as needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of fast-pace recruiting experience. Must be comfortable conducting searches for quick-fill positions.
  • Experience using recruiting sites such as LinkedIN Recruiter, Indeed, Idealist and an ATS is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Team-oriented, proactive, flexible and tech-savvy
  • Based in the DC area, with flexibility for occasional in-person work
  • Experience working successfully in a hybrid/remote environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to commit to full duration of the maternity leave (Fall 2025-May 2026)

Compensation: $35/h
