Compensation:

$200-250k annual salary + comprehensive benefits package

About the Project:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the construction of a landmark multi-million dollar casino resort project in the Mid-Atlantic region. This high-profile development is a joint venture between two well-established construction firms with a successful history of collaboration on similar projects in the region.

The development partners include a leading national casino developer and a recognized tribal entity. Leveraging the local expertise and extensive subcontractor network of one partner, combined with the unparalleled experience in developing market-leading casino resorts of the other, this project promises to be a significant economic driver and entertainment destination.

The development includes a state-of-the-art casino featuring a substantial number of gaming positions, a hotel with approximately 200 rooms, and multiple food and beverage outlets. The project is currently underway with a temporary facility slated to open in the near future and the permanent resort anticipated to open within the next few years.

Position Summary:

The Project Executive will be a key leader responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and successful completion of this significant casino resort project. This role will oversee all aspects of the construction process, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in large-scale construction projects, ideally within the gaming and hospitality sectors, and have a proven track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the construction of this multi-million dollar casino resort project.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the joint venture construction team, the development partners, the local municipality, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning through final closeout.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to established timelines and financial targets.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing project team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between all project participants, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges, developing and implementing effective solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of robust quality control and safety programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Monitor project progress against key milestones, providing regular reports to stakeholders on project status, potential issues, and proposed solutions.
  • Manage contract negotiations and administration, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Leverage the combined expertise of the joint venture partners to optimize project delivery and ensure a market-leading resort experience.
  • Ensure the successful and timely completion of interim project milestones and the final resort opening.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the local regulatory environment and ensure all project activities comply with relevant permits and approvals.
  • Represent the project and the joint venture construction team in meetings with stakeholders and the community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 18+ years of progressive experience in managing large-scale commercial construction projects, with significant experience in the gaming and/or hospitality sectors highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-million dollar projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the construction process, including pre-construction services, scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing joint venture partnerships and complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant construction software and technologies.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in the Mid-Atlantic region is a plus.
