DRA covers all major mining centers with offices across Africa and the Middle East, North and South America, and the Asia-Pacific. We are seeking a Lead Open Pit Mining Engineer for our Phoenix office.

This role is responsible for mining engineering and discipline project design activities relating to Mineral Reserves Estimating, concept , pre-feasibility (PFS), feasibility (FS), EPCM and turnkey mining projects as well as Operations undertaken by DRA of all mining projects, studies as well as contracts.

Responsibilities:

Mining Design & Drafting

• Manage the open pit mine design and scheduling tasks to ensure the work is carried out in accordance with client standards and specifications, industry norms and the relevant legislation.
• Ensure the effective review and approval of mining design and engineering.
• Develop improved work practices and ensure familiarity with new mining technologies.
• Undertake techno-economic investigations (capex and opex estimates).
• Provide mining inputs for studies, operations or EPCM projects.
• Prepare mine design documentation as per requirements for the level of study

Project Management

• Lead DRA’s open pit mining team on various projects and studies
• Liaise and co-ordinate with the client, project manager and engineers of other disciplines to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications.
• Manage the schedule (time), cost, quality and scope on all mining contracts on the project.
• Effectively utilize company resources.
• Accurately mark-up designs for drafting personnel.
• Ensure quality standards are adhered to by checking accuracy of work before it gets issued.

Requirements:

• BSc Eng (Mining). BEng (Mining)
• 15 years of total experience.
• Recognized QP for NI 43-101, SK-1300, PERC, JORC or SAMREC Reporting
• Must have been exposed to large-scale projects and large project teams.
• Mining engineering in operations or tech services for Mining Operation
• Hard rock Mining Experience
