About the Company

This privately held technology company builds highly complex, real-world systems that operate at scale in dynamic environments. The organization is engineering-led, deeply technical, and focused on advancing next-generation mobility and automation technologies.

Austin serves as the company’s primary growth hub, with a rapidly expanding team and long-term commitment to building in-person, highly collaborative teams. The culture is intentionally flat and centered on intellectual rigor, ownership, and internal promotion.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join the Analytics function within a large and growing Simulation organization. This role is ideal for a highly quantitative analytics leader who enjoys staying hands-on while also shaping team direction, methodologies, and standards.

You will start as a senior individual contributor while taking ownership of a core evaluation and experimentation focus area. Over time, this role will grow into people leadership, including mentoring analysts and helping build out the team as the organization scales.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop a deep understanding of complex technology systems and how they perform across simulated and real-world environments
  • Define and evolve metric frameworks and hierarchies to assess system quality, performance, and readiness
  • Lead analytical evaluation and experimentation efforts using rigorous statistical methods
  • Design, run, and interpret experiments; independently analyze results and translate them into clear, defensible insights
  • Partner closely with engineering, simulation, and infrastructure teams to align on scope, methods, and priorities
  • Help build and shape the analytics team by contributing to hiring, mentoring, and technical guidance
  • Collaborate on building scalable, automated analysis pipelines in partnership with data engineers and backend teams

Role Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in analytics supporting large-scale, complex, or highly technical products
  • Strong foundation in statistics and analytical reasoning, including uncertainty, experimentation, and evaluation
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to own analyses end-to-end
  • Experience working on complex, large-scale analytics initiatives
  • Prior leadership experience (formal or informal), with interest in growing into people management
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, engineering-heavy environment

Key Skills

  • Applied statistics and experimentation
  • Metric design and evaluation frameworks
  • Python for analytics
  • Advanced SQL
  • Large-scale data analysis
  • Cross-functional collaboration and technical communication
  • Strong quantitative background required -- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, or similar)
