As an HR Generalist at Hudson, you will play a critical role in supporting the people-side of our retail operations at Chicago Midway International Airport. Acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees alike, you will help shape a positive workplace culture through strategic HR support, employee engagement, compliance, and talent development. In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, you'll collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner and operational leaders to ensure smooth day-to-day functions while also driving initiatives that contribute to long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operations managers, offering guidance on employee relations, performance management, and compliance Partner with the HR Business Partner to build and maintain a strong HR presence across the branch.
  • Monitor and report on key HR trends and metrics such as turnover, staffing levels, and engagement
  • Provide support in employee counseling, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Oversee recruitment efforts including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Deliver new hire orientations, policy training, and ongoing development programs
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local/federal labor laws, and airport regulations Maintain accurate HR records and employee files; manage data entry in PeopleSoft
  • Respond to employee questions regarding compensation, leave, scheduling, and other HR matters Collaborate with community organizations to expand the candidate pipeline
  • Support union-related matters by understanding and applying collective bargaining agreements Assist with the planning and execution of employee recognition and engagement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Recruiting role
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification (or in progress)
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and HR best practices
