Job Description

Our client is seeking a Founding Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to become the first dedicated infrastructure hire and take ownership of the backbone of their semantic platform. This is a hands-on builder role, ideal for someone with strong infrastructure fundamentals, exposure to ML workloads, and a founder’s mindset.

The engineer will join a pioneering team working on cutting-edge data technology, with the opportunity to shape and scale infrastructure from the ground up. This role offers the chance to dive deep into modern infrastructure tools and practices, focusing on both cloud infrastructure and machine learning environments. This role is ONSITE

What You’ll Do

• Own and build the foundational infrastructure for the semantic platform.
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure to support ML and data-intensive workloads.
• Lead efforts in containerization, orchestration, and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and data teams to support the full tech stack.
• Monitor and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability across systems.
• Contribute to technical decisions and help define long-term infrastructure strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and containerization tools (Docker, Helm).
• Solid understanding of data infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Exposure to machine learning workflows and infrastructure needs.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and service mesh tools.
• A “founder’s mindset”—eager to learn, step up, and thrive in a high-paced startup environment.
• Ability to wear multiple hats and contribute across foundational and advanced levels of infrastructure.
