Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Atlanta-based contractor specializing in heavy civil and site development work. They are known for high-quality delivery in water, sewer, storm drainage, earthwork, and underground utilities. We’re hiring an Estimator to own the bid process from start to finish and support project execution. You must reside in the Atlanta area to be considered.

In this role, you’ll handle full-cycle estimating — reviewing bids, preparing takeoffs, submitting proposals, and managing awarded projects through completion. You’ll work closely with general contractors, suppliers, and two field crews to ensure accuracy, profitability, and steady workflow.

  • Projects range from $750K–$1.5M (up to $5M)
  • 75% estimating / 25% project management
  • Primarily negotiated work
  • Commercial site projects: schools, hospitals, churches, distribution centers
  • 60% repeat clients / 40% new business (new business is through referrals)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive six-figure salary commensurate with experience
  • Full-time, salaried position with health insurance and PTO

Hiring Profile:

  • Must currently be estimating civil/site development projects in the Atlanta market — familiarity with local contractors, pricing, and permitting is essential.
  • Experience focused on earthwork, storm drainage, water, and sewer infrastructure — not concrete, vertical, or structural work.
  • Proven ability to handle projects from cradle to grave (takeoff, pricing, bid submission, material ordering, billing, and remote coordination).
  • Background in site development or civil engineering (degree not required but helpful).
  • Comfortable reading civil plans and calculating quantities using takeoff software such as AgTech or DirtWork.
  • Prior work with or exposure to grading and excavating contractors is ideal.
  • Must have at least 2+ years of estimating experience and a strong working knowledge of site utilities.
  • Sharp, detail-oriented, and disciplined — someone who takes ownership and thrives in a small, high-accountability environment.
