Senior Financial Systems Analyst - Workday Financials

Location: Houston, Texas

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Systems Analyst to support and enhance Workday Financials for our client, a leading professional services firm based in Houston. This role would be responsible for ensuring the efficient use and continuous improvement of financial systems, particularly Workday Financials. You would act as a key liaison across Finance, HR, IT, and other business areas, managing system updates, reporting, and integrations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary support resource for Workday Financials modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Business Assets, and Expenses
• Maintain and update system configurations to support evolving business needs
• Develop and deliver custom Workday reports and dashboards for finance stakeholders
• Participate in Workday release cycles, including regression testing and the implementation of new features
• Support future system initiatives, including the onboarding of acquired entities into the financial systems environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day finance system issues; perform root cause analysis and drive solutions
• Coordinate the escalation of system issues in partnership with the IT support team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and system automation
• Document system processes and maintain up-to-date procedural guides
• Assist in compliance and audit efforts by providing relevant system data and documentation

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial systems support
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience with one or more Workday Financials modules (e.g., Core Financials, Procurement, Expenses)
• Strong grasp of financial and accounting operations and workflows
• Proficiency in building Workday custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic work environment
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across departments
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
