Job Description

Summary

Our client is seeking a results-driven Logistics Process Improvement Specialist to lead a warehouse transformation initiative to optimize logistics and distribution center operations. This person will implement cutting-edge technologies and driving process enhancements using lean principles.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency within logistics and warehousing.
  • Optimize warehouse floor layouts and inventory location strategies to reduce travel time and increase output.
  • Utilize AI tools and data mining techniques to uncover trends and identify cost-effective strategies.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and streamline processes.
  • Review and update SOPs to ensure clarity, consistency, and best practices across shifts and teams.
  • Implement technology solutions to automate manual/paper-based processes, increasing accuracy and reducing labor costs.
  • Oversee the integration of warehouse automation technology to maximize space and labor efficiency.
  • Educate and train staff on new systems, processes, and improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align operational improvements with financial and business objectives.
  • Ensure all improvements align with safety regulations and enhance workplace safety standards.
  • Forecast equipment and capacity needs using automation and technology to support future growth.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing training and industry involvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics process improvement, international shipping, and warehouse operations.
  • Proven track record leading warehouse automation transformations.
  • Proficient in Power BI and statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and warehouse automation technologies.
  • Expertise in optimizing warehouse layouts and material flow.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
