Job Description

Position Summary

The Training Department Intern supports the training team by assisting in the development, coordination, and implementation of training programs, materials, and related initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in corporate training, learning and development, and organizational support.

We are seeking a intern candidate who can work full-time hours for a minimum of 6 months with potential to extend to 12 months. Candidate can be a current college student or a recent graduate.

Key Responsibilities

On-site Training

  • Ensure product samples and demos are ordered and delivered ahead of training.
  • Assist training manager as needed: display product samples/demos, take photos, manage attendance.
  • Prepare and print training materials, such as presentations, handouts, and guides.
  • Provide travel and/or logistical support for training sessions, including setting up transportation, ordering snacks, ordering lunch, and scheduling dinner reservations.
  • Monitor participant feedback and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.

Off-site Training

  • Meet with sales manager to review training topics.
  • Determine what samples/demos are needed for the training. Pack and ship appropriate samples/demos to the training site.
  • Prepare printed materials or handouts as designated.
  • Monitor participant feedback and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.

New Hire Training

  • Manage new employee or onboarding process, ensure they understand their training requirements and timeline for completion.
  • Run quarterly updates to employee scorecard and share results with management.

Product Launches and Product Launch Videos

  • Schedule all product launches via Zoom.
  • Prepare for the training by ensuring that product samples are obtained, ensuring the presentation is complete, assist with the script writing.
  • After training, download the file for editing by external vendor and then share with marketing when complete.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Update product demos on display in the training facility.
  • Upload sales presentations to Teams, routinely update product slides, manage competitive analysis slides, others as assigned.
  • Manage expenses to budget, update monthly budget.
  • Track inventory /order inventory for customer gifts.
  • Ensure the website has correct training dates, content is available, and links are working correctly.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Educational Background

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Previous internship, coursework, or volunteer experience in training, education, or HR is an asset but not required.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.

Other:

  • Position is located in Westfield, IN.
  • Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Remote work may be available, up to two days per week, on weeks that there is no in-person training.
  • Relocation and/or work sponsorship is not available with this position.
