JOB SUMMARY : Gault Family Companies is seeking a results-driven Stone Yard Supervisor/Dispatcher to lead daily operations at our Seaview Bridgeport Yard. This hands-on role oversees dispatching, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and customer service, while ensuring the yard remains safe, clean, and well-organized. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional communication, and advanced mathematical skills to drive efficiency, accuracy, and outstanding customer experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean yard and facility environment.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments with precision—verifying destinations, routing, rates, schedules, and documentation.
  • Monitor stock levels daily; forecast material needs and proactively place orders.
  • Oversee inventory rotation to reduce waste and improve turnaround.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damage reports, shortages, or mis-shipments.
  • Utilize strong mathematical and analytical skills to ensure inventory accuracy, optimize delivery loads, and control costs.
  • Track and analyze inventory metrics, delivery timelines, and yard productivity to inform operational decisions.
  • Maintain clean, functional equipment; schedule regular maintenance and ensure logs are up to date.
  • Support the scale house during peak periods or as needed.
  • Set clear expectations, provide day-to-day supervision, and coach team members to ensure high performance and accountability.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries or issues, ensuring complete satisfaction.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Federal and State safety regulations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices through workshops, networking, and ongoing learning.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Class D, B, or CDL license preferred
  • Forklift certification and experience operating loaders preferred
  • 1–2 years of dispatching experience preferred
  • Background in masonry/stone materials or construction supply is a plus
  • Strong math and analytics background —ability to work with measurements, conversions, weights, volumes, and cost analysis

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, squat and sit for extended periods of time, and perform physical duties that require use of arms and legs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Driving a vehicle; getting in and out of truck.
