By the Yard is currently hiring a store manager for our Maple Grove Showroom! This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations in the store to ensure that we are always delivering on the best possible customer experience.

One week training at headquarters in Jordan, Minnesota. (required)

The Showroom Manager proactively manages the customer experience of the assigned showroom and coaches the showroom team to build relationships with every customer that comes through the door. Responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the showroom and maintenance of the showroom. Maintain and grow relationships with our retail customers and educate our walk-in guests with the objective of converting a store visit into a sale.

This is not a work remote or commission-based position. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Managing the Customer Experience

· Assure long-term customer relationships are built, overseeing service to assure all team members are exceeding customer expectations

· Oversight of showroom to ensure overall appearance and display is consistent with expectations including layouts, organization, and cleanliness

· Daily interaction with customers in the showroom and via phone to build lasting relationships based on trust and confidence in the product

Staff Management and Team Building

· Assure daily sales and showroom tasks are performed

· Assure consistent practices and procedures are maintained

· Schedule and coordinate employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage

· Recommend staff levels and assist with recruiting and hiring

· Perform evaluations including coaching, mentoring, counseling, and disciplinary actions of the showroom team

· Help with training of new Consultants as well as continuing education of current staff

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Showroom Metrics and Sales

· Accountable for reporting on showroom and team sales and metrics

· Responsible for adhering to showroom budgets

· Collaborate with Customer Experience Manager around goals and strategies to achieve showroom growth

· Monitor showroom team metrics and hold the team accountable to goals and initiatives

Requirements:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Management, or related field is preferred
  • Experience working as an inside salesperson preferred
  • Experience overseeing staff; including recruiting, training and development, and performance is required
  • Previous experience in retail sales, customer service or hospitality is required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Sound organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Some weekends and overtime are required
  • Some travel is required while working off-site shows and events, or traveling to other store locations

  • Physically capable of occasionally lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, and/or moving up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to spend long periods of time working on the computer, as well as typing
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as frequently walking
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Able to see, hear, and speak to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues

Working Environment:

This is a retail/office environment with the possibility of evening and/or weekend schedules. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
