Title : Senior Industrial Estimator

Job Location : Flora, Mississippi

Malouf Construction is a 37-year-old, Mississippi-based construction firm, specializing in Civil, Industrial, and Marine Construction. We are licensed in Mississippi and all surrounding states, and our customer base consists of public and private entities. We deliver projects through various project delivery systems, with a focus on design-build and design-assist projects.

Our firm is seeking an experienced building estimator to join our pre-construction team, whose primary focus will be on private, industrial, design-build opportunities. Other project types will include bid-build projects, industrial non-building projects, and building projects with commercial aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• All aspects of front-end services, including programming, conceptual design, preliminary budgeting, and aspects of marketing
• Directing the design process by programming with customers to develop project scope and design requirements. Coordinating with consultants as required to develop final construction documents.
• Estimating self-perform activities, evaluating best-value subcontractors and vendors, preparing preliminary schedules
• Preparing and submitting detailed bid packages and proposals
• Routine contact with customers, consultants, and subcontractors
• Managing project handoff from estimating to operations

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in interactions with clients, suppliers, and coworkers
• Ability to efficiently usher projects from concept through estimating and project kickoff
• Show an understanding of construction and engineering techniques and their suitability, particularly related to metal building construction
• Have a practical knowledge of safe working practices
• Have technical skills related to estimating software, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, etc.
• Travel to project sites and meet with customers as needed

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 10+ years of experience estimating or managing industrial building, structural concrete, and/or commercial construction projects
