Job Description

Senior Cost Analyst (Salary Range: $85,000 – $105,000)

LHH - Onsite in Fort Worth, TX

LHH is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst for a growing construction-services provider based in Fort Worth, TX. In this pivotal role, you will guide regional administrative and finance functions - owning project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting - while working hand-in-hand with Operations leadership to support strategic goals and major business decisions.

In addition to a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline, the successful candidate brings three to five years of project-accounting experience - ideally within construction or manufacturing - plus solid CMiC (or comparable ERP) skills, advanced Excel know-how, and standout organization and communication abilities. If you’re eager to join a dynamic company that offers robust career growth and an excellent work/life balance, apply today.

Responsibilities

  • Establish project structures in the ERP system - creating budgets, cost codes, and contract data—then ensure accurate maintenance through close-out.
  • Lead the regional month-end cycle: prepare journal entries, accruals, and under/over-billing adjustments; review P&L results; and confirm proper revenue recognition.
  • Track job costs, variances, and profitability metrics, partnering with Operations to refine forecasts and highlight performance gaps.
  • Produce ad-hoc dashboards, variance analyses, and cost reports for corporate and field leaders to support data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee invoicing and collections, champion ACH adoption, and drive action on receivables aged more than 30 days.
  • Manage accounts-payable workflows, including vendor onboarding, PO and non-PO processing, and credit-card reconciliations.
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual inventory counts, monitor equipment utilization, and relay insights for operational planning.
  • Supervise administrative staff, provide vacation/turnover coverage for critical functions, and spearhead process-improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to annual budgets, long-range plans, and new-office business cases by analyzing cost structures and revenue projections.

Client Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a closely related field (CPA or master’s a plus).
  • Three to five years of concentrated project-accounting experience with demonstrated contract-compliance oversight.
  • Prior exposure to construction or manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with CMiC or a similar accounting/ERP platform, along with advanced Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
