RN Manager – Labor & Delivery

Location: Savannah, GA

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Schedule: Days | No Weekends
  • Salary: Up to $110,000 annually (based on experience)

Overview

A large, regional acute care medical center in Savannah is seeking an experienced RN Manager – Labor & Delivery to lead a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit within a comprehensive Women’s Services program. This leadership role is responsible for operational oversight, clinical excellence, staff development, and patient safety in a fast-paced obstetric environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, staff, and direct daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit.

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to RNs, CNAs, and unit support staff.

  • Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based care aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Collaborate with Women’s Services leadership to develop policies, procedures, and operational plans.

  • Monitor unit performance metrics including quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staffing, and productivity.

  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional development.

  • Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Promote patient safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance with obstetric best practices.

Unit Overview

  • 12 Labor & Delivery beds with 4 overflow beds

  • 3 Operating Rooms

  • 2 Triage beds

  • 4-bed PACU

  • Approximately 300 births per month (~3,500 annually)

Qualifications

Required

  • Active, unencumbered RN license (Georgia or compact eligible).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN required).

  • Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience .

  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in Labor & Delivery.

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (AHA or Red Cross).

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.

  • Strong background in high-volume obstetric units.

  • Proven experience managing staff, workflow, and quality initiatives in Labor & Delivery.
