The Opportunity: Dedicated Remote French Tutor

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Be Doing)

  • Provide truly personalized, one-on-one French language instruction to students, covering the full range from foundational concepts (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) to advanced conversational, comprehension, and academic writing topics.
  • Evaluate the distinct linguistic learning requirements of each student and design tailored, culturally relevant lesson plans that promote a comprehensive grasp of French principles and culture.
  • Conduct highly engaging and interactive virtual tutoring sessions, creatively incorporating digital resources, media, and virtual collaboration platforms to enhance the learning experience.
  • Systematically monitor students' progress and provide specific, constructive feedback to rapidly enhance their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in French.
  • Collaborate professionally and harmoniously with staff and other teachers to support students' overall academic success and motivation.
  • Stay current with the most up-to-date Canadian provincial curriculum standards (e.g., Ontario FSL, Quebec, or other relevant curricula) and innovative language acquisition techniques to provide cutting-edge educational guidance.

Candidate Requirements (Let's Talk About You)

  • Native or near-native French language proficiency (demonstrated mastery in written and oral communication).
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., French, Education, Linguistics, or a related discipline).
  • Strong, verifiable knowledge of relevant Canadian high school French curriculum standards and proven effective teaching methodologies.
  • Expertise in teaching senior-level French (e.g., French Immersion, Core French, AP/IB preparation) is a significant asset.
  • Proven ability to develop comprehensive, highly engaging, and culturally relevant lesson materials.
  • Commanding language knowledge and expertise across various proficiency levels, from beginner conversation to advanced academic comprehension.
