Job Description

A leading manufacturer in the precast concrete industry is seeking an experienced, hands-on, results-driven Precast Concrete Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our Texas facility. This critical role requires proven experience in precast concrete manufacturing operations and focuses on ensuring safety, quality excellence, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

PRECAST CONCRETE PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

The Production Manager will ensure employee safety, meet production schedules, and deliver quality precast concrete products that meet company standards and customer expectations at the lowest possible cost. The successful candidate must understand precast concrete production processes and effectively use key metrics to manage performance.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

• Directly lead and manage manufacturing teams in precast concrete production operations, coordinating closely with production control, inventory control, dispatch, and cross-functional teams
• Ensure employee safety through proactive safety management and maintain superior product quality through regular audits and comprehensive in-process quality checks
• Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) using production boards and daily team huddles, tracking production metrics and using data-driven insights to manage performance effectively
• Provide timely updates to key stakeholders regarding order status, coordinate delivery schedules, and communicate with customers regarding delivery commitments
• Track and manage backorders, proactively communicating changes in delivery commitments to customers as needed
• Recommend appropriate material substitutions when necessary to maintain optimal production flow
• Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and provide constructive feedback to Engineering teams for corrections
• Apply Lean manufacturing tools to continuously enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
• Lead structured improvement initiatives using Lean principles to drive operational excellence
• Set and communicate clear performance targets and metrics for manufacturing teams

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of management experience specifically in the precast concrete manufacturing industry (This experience is mandatory and non-negotiable)
• Proven track record of successfully managing precast concrete production operations
• Demonstrated experience working effectively with cross-functional teams including production, inventory control, engineering, estimating, and dispatch
• Strong understanding of precast concrete manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience implementing Lean manufacturing tools or similar continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience developing, tracking, and utilizing performance KPIs to drive operational results
• ACI (American Concrete Institute) and PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute) certifications
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish preferred)
