JOB TITLE : Production Manager

ORGANIZATION : YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio)

REPORTS TO: Director of Student Experience

SUPERVISES: Contractors, Interns, Volunteers

JOB SUMMARY: The Student Experience team is a dynamic, high output team that is passionate

about changing kid’s lives through music and building relationships with the YOSA community. The

Production Manager is responsible for rehearsal, concert, and special event production for all YOSA

programs. The Production Manager is also responsible for all music library and program repertoire

management. This position requires the ability to self-manage, take initiative, be flexible, and prioritize

effectively. This position requires a high level of integrity, customer service, and resourcefulness.

Duties and Responsibilities

Rehearsal and Concert Production

• Lead YOSA production for rehearsals, concerts, recitals, camp, tour, and cross-departmental

projects including but not limited to logistics, communication, transportation, and production-

related paperwork.

• Lead stage management for YOSA production activities.

• Hire and coordinate all contractors for YOSA production activities.

• Collaborate with orchestra conductors, coaches, YOSA musicians, staff, volunteers, and interns

to prepare for YOSA production activities.

• Actively promote retention by improving the Student Experience and engaging with current YOSA

musicians.

• Work closely with Director of Student Experience and Music Director to plan and execute all tasks

listed above.

Administrative

• Manage YOSA music library and inventory.

• Assist Director of Student Experience and Enrollment Manager in producing recruitment and

retention events.

• Collaborate with the Student Experience coworkers on departmental projects, including but not

limited to enrollment, auditions, reporting, database work, and data collection.

• Become fluent in technologies used by YOSA staff.

• Other duties as assigned by Director of Student Experience.

• Assist in training and management of Intern and Volunteers.

Requirements

The successful candidate shall have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in music education,

performance, arts management, or a related field. Work experience will be considered in lieu of a

bachelor’s degree. Evening and weekend hours will be required. Team lifting of heavy objects. In-depth knowledge of symphonic music, music education, and percussion equipment is a plus.

Compensation

Salary range is $44,000-$48,000. Excellent employee benefits package including health and dental

coverage, 401(k), and paid vacation.
