Job Description

The Production Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring all production activities run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company goals. This role is responsible for managing Supervisors and production teams across multiple shifts to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. The Production Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence by maintaining high safety standards, ensuring product quality, optimizing workflows, and developing team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Ensure all production activities meet established quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Shift Supervisors and production staff to build high-performing teams.
  • Partner with Scheduling and Planning teams to ensure efficient production scheduling that meets demand.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities with minimal production disruption.
  • Monitor daily production performance, addressing issues and removing barriers to ensure targets are met.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production data, KPIs, and other metrics to Plant and Operations leadership.
  • Foster open, professional communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager or Operations Director.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, operations, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in fabrication.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
