About the School
Tessa International School is a fast-growing bilingual and international school located in Hoboken, New Jersey—just one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. About the Role
As one of our English Primary Lead Teachers, you will teach two primary classes, alternating with a target language Lead Teacher. By joining our vibrant educational community, you will play a key role in shaping the learning journey of our students, with a strong focus on academic excellence and social-emotional development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that connect classroom learning to real-world experiences, inspiring enthusiasm and academic excellence in line with IB and state standards.
- Differentiating instruction using a variety of developmentally appropriate teaching and assessment methods to meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor and support the academic, emotional, and social development of students.
- Maintain high expectations for student behavior to ensure a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Integrate technology meaningfully to enhance student learning.
- Foster a strong sense of community by actively engaging with students, colleagues, and families.
- Collaborate constructively with colleagues, leadership, and staff across the school.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in curriculum development, team planning, and faculty meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent command of English
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience teaching primary grades
- Master’s degree in Education preferred
- Experience with the IB PYP and/or dual language programs preferred
- Passion for teaching and inspiring young learners
- Strong communication skills, humility, and empathy
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset
- Strong team spirit and collaborative approach
