Position Overview

Global X seeks an experienced PR and Media Relations professional to lead external communications and manage the firm’s media presence. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role oversees messaging strategy, media outreach, and agency relationships. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in PR or external communications, excels in navigating complex media scenarios, and serves as a trusted advisor and coach to executive leadership. Strong judgment, initiative, and strategic communication skills are essential.

Global X Marketing Team Overview

Global X’s in-house marketing and communications team supports and drives business objectives through creative, results-driven strategies. Primarily based in New York, the team is organized into verticals including sales, product, digital, advertising, PR/media, events, and analytics. The team works cross-functionally and partner closely with Sales, Product Research/Management, Compliance/Legal to deliver compelling narratives and integrated campaigns that communicate our value to clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute high-impact media strategies that promote Global X’s investment products, thought leadership, value proposition, and spokespeople.
• In partnership with the firm’s PR/media agency, manage all aspects of media engagement, including responding to inbound requests, developing outbound pitches to reporters, and oversight/monitoring of the firm’s mentions/voice in the press.
• Build relationships with reporters across media outlets to ensure strong coverage.
• Write press releases to publicize firm activities including new product launches, product actions, and content initiatives (new thought leadership articles, etc.). Draft other outbound press messages/communications as needed.
• Lead the development of crisis communication plans and messages on an as-needed basis, developing strategies to anticipate and mitigate firm reputational risk and damage.
• Ensure consistency in the firm’s external brand and messaging activities and with senior leadership spokespeople, acting as a protector of the firm’s reputation.
• Manage media training of spokespeople and oversee the firm’s approved spokesperson list.
• Identify and vet senior leadership speaking opportunities.
• Partner with other Marketing verticals including product and content to develop action plans to promote initiatives with press and media.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of previous experience in media relations, public relations, journalism, or a related field, particularly focused on financial services or asset management
• Understanding of the financial services or asset management industry; familiarity with ETF managers is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or a related field
• High attention to detail and quality, even when working at speed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with senior executives, with the ability to provide strategic guidance

For New York City Only

The base salary range for this position is $155,000-$175,000. In addition, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and competitive benefits package. The total compensation package for this position may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
