Plumbing Estimator – Onsite Position in Anaheim or San Diego, CA

A leading mechanical contracting firm in Southern California is actively seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join a well-established team in either Anaheim or San Diego. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in mechanical construction while working alongside professionals with extensive industry tenure. Many team members have over two decades of experience. The organization is known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and delivering complex projects in sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, education, and advanced manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret bid documents, attend pre-bid meetings, and interface with clients regarding project requirements.
• Develop detailed plumbing system layouts and sizing, even from incomplete design documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, gather pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractors, and prepare comprehensive proposals.
• Utilize estimating software (such as Autobid or comparable platforms) to produce accurate cost assessments.
• Collaborate with design professionals and project teams on design-assist and design-build projects, ensuring budget alignment throughout the design process.
• Work closely with CAD detailing staff and construction project teams to support project delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of safety regulations, workers’ compensation, insurance, and bonding requirements as they relate to project bids.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5+ years of mechanical construction experience, with a focus on preparing large-scale and complex bid proposals.
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, MS Outlook, and plumbing estimating systems such as Autobid.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally across multiple levels of stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Experience interpreting a variety of instructions and technical data in various formats.
• Professional demeanor and appearance when representing the company to clients and partners.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

Location and Work Environment
