Role Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician supports daily pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe and timely preparation, packaging, and delivery of medications to long-term care residents. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced in the LTC pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and package medications according to facility and patient-specific requirements.
  • Maintain and update patient medication records in the pharmacy management system.
  • Assist pharmacists in medication verification, refill requests, and order entry.
  • Operate and maintain automated dispensing and packaging equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels and perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Support compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, delivery staff, and facility partners to ensure optimal patient care.

Education:

· High school diploma or GED required.

  • Certification: Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Ex-CPT certification preferred. Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration required.

Experience:

· Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician (long-term care experience strongly preferred).

· Familiarity with pharmacy software systems (Primecare, Framework LTC, STAT safe ) is a plus.
