Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional pet care. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for grooming pets to ensure they look their best while also maintaining their health and well-being. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will interact with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and preferences.

Duties

  • Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards and owner specifications.
  • Handle animals gently and safely, ensuring their comfort during the grooming process.
  • Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any potential health issues that may require attention.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the grooming area and ensure all tools, kennels and equipment are sanitized after each use.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming options, care tips, and any observed health concerns.
  • Assist in managing appointments and scheduling grooming sessions to optimize workflow.
  • Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques, trends, and products to enhance services offered.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in pet grooming is required.
  • Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
  • Knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming styles, and appropriate care techniques is essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with pet owners.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in pet grooming or related qualifications is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare is essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to do large dogs
  • Punctuality and strong communication skills is essential.
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Knowledge of pet retail products, health issues and local events is a plus.
