Job Description

Job Overview:

This role involves tracking jurisdiction permits and utilities through the review process, coordinating communication between construction teams and construction agencies, and reporting on permit and utility statuses. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to interact with utility companies directly.

Responsibilities:

  • Track all jurisdiction permits/utilities through the review process.
  • Coordinate communications between the construction team and relevant agencies.
  • Communicate directly with utility companies regarding permit statuses.
  • Submit permit packages via online systems, fax, or in person when necessary.
  • Pick up completed permit packages and ensure they are properly documented.
  • Track jurisdiction-specific requirements and provide updates to the team.
  • Maintain permit submittals and approved permits in tracking database
  • Manage financial and reporting aspects related to permitting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with permitting authorities.
  • Track and report on aerial inspections and restoration completions.
  • Support scheduling functions and provide coverage when needed.
  • Handle traffic control tasks and related follow-ups as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience with permitting for outside plant construction
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to track and report data.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with utility companies.
  • Ability to work onsite four days a week (Monday-Thursday).
  • Experience with Katapult is preferred. If no Katapult experience, then experience with CAD and Google Earth with ability to build KMZ files
