Job Description

The Payroll Analyst will be primarily responsible for processing complex payrolls, managing and analyzing advanced payroll reporting, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and leading payroll-related projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience processing complex payrolls including union populations.

Responsibilities

  • Process complex payrolls, including multi-state and international payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and benefits.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant authorities.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory filings and other requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders regarding payroll-related inquiries and reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Assist HRIS Manager with communicating and testing system requirements of Kronos Dimensions (UKG).
  • Lead and manage payroll projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Develop and generate advanced payroll reporting using statistical analysis for management and stakeholders including trends and areas of optimization.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Provide supplementary training and support to payroll staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (or a related field), and/or commensurate payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (Kronos Dimensions) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.

Job Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to hear and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Regularly required to communicate with colleagues and clients, both in person and via electronic means
