Position Overview:

The Pattern Maker will be responsible for developing first through production-ready patterns for our women’s denim categories. You’ll collaborate closely with Design, Technical Design, and Production to ensure all styles meet aesthetic vision, brand fit standards, and commercial feasibility. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, requiring a deep understanding of denim construction, shrinkage behavior, stretch and recovery, and grading across all women’s sizes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create accurate first patterns for women’s denim styles (jeans, shorts, skirts, etc.) based on design sketches and tech packs
  • Interpret design intent while ensuring technical feasibility, fit integrity, and production efficiency
  • Create and maintain core fit blocks, ensuring consistency and precision across all denim categories
  • Apply knowledge of denim stretch, shrinkage, and recovery to build functional and flattering patterns
  • Collaborate with wash and development teams to adjust patterns for wash effects and fabric behavior
  • Partner with the Technical Designer during fittings, making real-time adjustments and applying fit corrections as needed
  • Prepare and maintain detailed pattern files including grain lines, notches, seam allowances, and construction notes
  • Manage pattern grading across all sizes with accuracy and consistency
  • Digitally manage patterns using [e.g., Gerber] and keep files organized and up-to-date
  • Support on-time sample delivery by meeting development and production calendar deadlines

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of pattern making experience, with a strong focus on women’s denim
  • Expertise in women’s fit and body grading; ability to create flattering silhouettes across sizes
  • Proficiency in digital pattern software such as Gerber
  • Deep understanding of denim fabric properties, including stretch, shrinkage, and wash impact
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques, and production processes
  • Experience working closely with Design, Technical Design, and factories (domestic and overseas)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for product, fit, and the craft of denim
  • Proficient with English language skills in verbal and writing
