Internship Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025 in a paid position. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of our company by generating new business leads and working with existing clients. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in the healthcare/clinical research industry.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and research potential clients (pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, research institutions) through various channels, including online databases, and industry publications.
• Develop and implement lead generation strategies, including targeted email campaigns, social media outreach, and content marketing initiatives.
• Qualify leads based on pre-defined criteria and maintain accurate records of all lead generation activities in our CRM system.
• Collaborate with the business development team to refine lead generation strategies and identify new opportunities for growth.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends.
• Participate in business development meetings and contribute to strategic planning sessions.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Willing and able to work out of Charlottesville, VA office at least once a week.
• Strong interest in the healthcare/clinical research industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
