We are looking for a Packaging Technician I to join our team in Reno, NV. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Packaging Technician I will Operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed

Essential Duties:
  • Responsible for the set up and operation of the machine within accepted safety practices and the allotted time frame.
  • Properly perform necessary setting adjustments.
  • Properly perform film changes and ribbon changes including changeover from one dye to another.
  • Ensure the products have the correct components before packing them.
  • Continuously check the label, seals and date placement throughout the shift to ensure that every package label and date is correct.
  • Fill out and sign all required documentation before each run.
  • Monitor equipment operation to prevent unscheduled downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Production Leads and other Packaging Technicians on any situations arising during their shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

High School Diploma or equivalent; Certificate from accredited college or technical school in Mechanical studies is preferred. Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements:
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Read equipment manuals and diagrams.
  • Understand and be able to practice basic troubleshooting skills.
This position requires training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Training is also required

on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality.
