School Occupational Therapist

Location: Alexandria, VA 22314

Position Type: Full-Time, School-Based

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Occupational Therapist to join our student support team. The ideal candidate will provide direct and consultative OT services to students with diverse needs, collaborate with educators and families, and support students’ participation in academic and functional school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in a variety of school settings
  • Participate in IEP development, meetings, and progress reporting
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Assist in developing strategies and accommodations that promote student engagement, motor development, sensory regulation, and functional independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current Virginia OT license (or eligibility)
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practice
