Health Information Services Technician
Location: West Hollywood, CA

Shift: Day (5 x 8 Hours) 8:00 – 16:30

Position Details
- Start: ASAP
- Role Type: Temporary – Onsite
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
- Processing medical records requests for patients, providers, law firms, attorneys, etc.
- EPIC Release of Information (ROI) module (minimum 1 year required)
- HIPAA and Release of Information procedures
- Use of Kofax, PDF applications, and e-fax systems
- Data entry and processing accuracy of 95% or higher
- Preferred: RHIT/RHIA credential (not required)
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize requests from multiple sources and process through the appropriate systems within required timelines.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and HIPAA privacy standards.
- Address customer inquiries for patient information, assist callers with making requests, and provide general customer service.
- Educate customers on confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Identify and respond appropriately to internal and external customer needs using available resources.
Skills Required
- EPIC ROI (Release of Information module)
- Strong data entry accuracy
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and confidentiality protocols
- E-fax handling, PDF editing/processing tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
