Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Description: Element Staffing is recruiting for a Laboratory Technician for a specialty chemical company in SE Houston. The Lab Technician will work in the Quality Control Laboratory or quality supported areas, involved in one of the following activities: product measurement/quality control and management of laboratory chemical inventory. This position supports plant operations by conducting laboratory analyses on samples. This work is performed via 12-hour shifts and day to night rotations. Overtime work is necessary from time to time to support the needs of the business.

Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:

• Assist and support laboratory personnel and operations with routine and non-routine quality control testing.
• Prepare samples for analysis and perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediate and finished products by use of Melt Flow Index, Molecular Weight, TGA, DSC, tensile and impact testing and testing, and other established procedures.
• Properly document results and assist in the development and improvement of laboratory SOPs.
• Maintain all laboratory databases with new results for record keeping and report generation.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment per the current maintenance schedule.
• Interact and communicate results and activities to Lab Management, Production, Operations, and Customer Service.
• Actively participate and maintain compliance with company HSE program and policies.
• Assist with raw material stocks, inventory control, and general housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned by lab manager.

Additional Information:

• Years of Experience: 1-5+ years
• Education: AS/BS Chemistry/Natural Science preferred OR equivalent industry experience
• Shift/Travel: 12 hour rotating shifts + OT as needed
• Compensation: DOE
• Assignment Type: Contract to Hire
• Location: Pasadena, TX
