Title: Inventory Specialist

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $50K–$53K/year

Travel: 1–2 hours from Harrisburg, PA

Sterling Engineering is seeking an Inventory Specialist for our client in Harrisburg, PA. This role is based in Harrisburg, PA and will primarily work remotely. While working from home, the Inventory Specialist will handle administrative responsibilities such as logging orders, data entry, and general coordination. Once products are shipped, they will travel to the customer facility (within 1–2 hours from Harrisburg) to ensure delivery accuracy and customer satisfaction. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to customer sites.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor customer site inventory; replenish and stock as needed to maintain defined levels
  • Recommend changes to inventory levels based on usage and identify new VMI program opportunities
  • Assist customers with inventory space/placement and product shipments
  • Take customer spot orders and relay to sales teams
  • Visit customer sites based on a set schedule and respond to emergency needs
  • Maintain correct tagging and documentation on customer site bins
  • Deliver products using company vehicle; follow all customer and company delivery procedures
  • Handle on-site customer inquiries and recommend product improvements
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding customer visits and requirements
  • Address issues related to incorrect products, shortages, or late shipments
  • Assemble hoses for customers as needed
  • Maintain company vehicle and follow safe driving policies
  • Abide by customer safety rules and attend required training
  • Participate in sales promotions, meetings, and training sessions

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience or equivalent
  • Mechanical/technical knowledge required
  • Understanding of fluid connector products; ability to identify fitting thread types
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes and inventory control
  • Ability to read purchase orders and packing lists
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management and basic computer/data entry skills
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass MVR driving check
  • Parker-Hannifin product knowledge a plus
