Vandelay Hospitality Group - Interior Designer

About Vandelay Hospitality Group

For over a decade, Vandelay Hospitality Group has built a legacy of iconic dining experiences, growing our portfolio across brands and markets nationwide. Guided by a shared vision, our team creates timeless spaces that embody the best of American hospitality – where quality, authenticity and a sense of place unite to leave a lasting impression.

About the Role

Vandelay Hospitality Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Interior Designer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on elevated, design-forward spaces in a fast-paced, team driven environment. You’ll play a critical role in bringing our brand vision to life—from concept to completion—across our growing portfolio of restaurant concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interior environments for high-end restaurants, from concept through final installation
  • Source and style FF&E, and create comprehensive FF&E schedules, procurement plans, and manage logistics
  • Create and redline detailed drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, millwork details, and sections using AutoCAD
  • Make independent site visits for field measurements, documentation, and design coordination
  • Build professional grade design presentations that communicate vision and design intent
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including operations, architecture, and construction
  • Maintain strong organization and prioritization across multiple concurrent projects
  • Participate in project timelines, workflow schedules, and design review sessions
  • Maintain an organized design library and manage sample requests and deliveries
  • Stay up on design trends and push creative boundaries while honoring the brand aesthetic

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a CIDA-accredited 4-year Interior Design program, highly preferred
  • 3 to 6 years of experience at an architectural or interior design firm with a focus on hospitality or restaurant design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Acrobat), Lumion or Enscape
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate design intent visually and verbally
  • Proven ability to independently manage design phases from schematic through installation
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and pivot between projects
  • Comfortable working at a computer 80% of the time, with occasional hands-on site involvement
  • Must be willing to travel (15%)
  • Bonus: Experience with hand sketched renderings and/or Procore or similar construction management software

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, and PTO
  • Employee discounts across all VHG brands
  • Creative, collaborative culture — where your ideas are welcome, your work is valued, and your growth is supported

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods of time

***Please also submit your portfolio to: recruiting@vhghp.com!***
