Talent Source is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team and work in the shipyards of San Diego, CA . The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on marine vessels. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems aboard ships and vessels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
- Handle refrigerants and ensure compliance with EPA regulations.
- Replace defective parts, including compressors, motors, fans, and thermostats.
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and other shipyard personnel to ensure proper system operation.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and shipyard protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; HVAC certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with HVAC systems, preferably in a marine or shipyard setting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system components, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant handling preferred.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights aboard vessels.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools related to HVAC maintenance and repair.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in a shipyard environment, including exposure to outdoor conditions.
