Job Description

A great UHY client is seeking an HR Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be someone who is a change agent with technical expertise.

The HR Manager role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

HR Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and administer HR policies, programs, and procedures aligned with operations and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with Management and department supervisors to identify staffing needs and coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of skilled personnel.
  • Manage employee relations by addressing workplace issues, mediating conflicts, and ensuring open communication between staff and management.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local employment and safety regulations.
  • Administer employee compensation, benefits programs, and wage adjustments, ensuring competitiveness within the industry.
  • Design, implement, and monitor safety training programs to foster a culture of safety, including ergonomic interventions and hazard identification.
  • Maintain and update HR documentation, including safety protocols, disciplinary policies, and standard operating procedures for manufacturing staff.
  • Facilitate performance reviews, including evaluations, goal setting, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support employee development initiatives, training programs, and skills enhancement to improve productivity.
  • Maintain HR metrics related to turnover, absenteeism, productivity, and safety incidents to inform strategic decisions.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees to build a collaborative and compliant work environment.
  • Facilitate payroll activities and PTO with the use of PLEX/ADP.

HR Manager Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Relevant manufacturing or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with a preference for experience in manufacturing, machining, or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA / MIOSHA regulations, safety standards, and industrial labor laws.
  • Experience working directly with plant management and understanding of manufacturing workflows.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems, payroll, and MS Office suite (e.g., Plex, ADP Workforce Now, Excel and PowerPoint),

HR Manager Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
