Do you have a passion for providing spiritual care and support during difficult times? If so, we have an immediate opening for a Hospice Chaplain at Emblem Hospice Tucson.

At Emblem Hospice Tucson, we are dedicated to offering life-changing service to our patients. As a Hospice Chaplain, you will have the opportunity to provide essential spiritual care services to patients and their families/caregivers, either directly or through coordination with other spiritual counselors. You will play a vital role in assuring the spiritual well-being of our patients and providing them with comfort and support during their hospice journey.

Job Description Summary:

• Assess the spiritual needs of patients and families/caregivers in a timely manner
• Participate in the development of individualized care plans to meet identified spiritual needs
• Provide direct spiritual care to patients and families/caregivers
• Serve as a liaison and support to community chaplains and spiritual counselors
• Maintain records of spiritual care services utilization for quality assurance
• Attend interdisciplinary group meetings and provide consultation and support on spiritual care
• Recruit community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers to meet patient needs
• Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities
• Plan funeral or memorial services for patients as requested
• Supervise spiritual care volunteers assigned to patients/families/caregivers

Position Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology
• Experience working with death and dying individuals/families/caregivers
• Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Comfort in an interfaith setting
• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values
• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care
• Must be a licensed driver with a reliable, insured vehicle
• Hospice experience preferred
