Health, Safety, and Environmental Technician – Level IV

Pay Rate : $32.69/HR

Shift : 2nd Shift (3PM - 11:30PM)

Client is seeking a talented Health, Safety, and Environmental Technician – Level IV to join our team at the Ladson, SC facility. As an integral part of our Health and Safety team, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. This is an exciting opportunity to impact both safety culture and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enhance Safety Culture: Integrate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture into daily operations, fostering a safer work environment for all.
• Identify and Address Gaps: Evaluate and address gaps within corporate HSE policies and local procedures, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
• Incident Management: Conduct hazard identification, incident investigations, and risk assessments to prevent future incidents and improve safety protocols.
• Training and Awareness: Deliver training and communicate HSE practices to raise awareness and ensure safety procedures are understood and followed.
• Environmental Management: Coordinate environmental initiatives and support sustainability goals to meet the company’s environmental objectives.
• Emergency Preparedness: Maintain and implement emergency response processes to ensure the site is fully prepared for any emergency situations.
• Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and identify non-conforming materials to maintain high safety and quality standards while reducing costs.
• Team Collaboration: Foster effective communication and teamwork, driving improvements across safety, quality, and overall processes.

Qualifications and Competencies:

To succeed in this role, you should have the following:

• Process Optimization Skills: Ability to identify and implement efficient processes, focusing on continuous improvement to enhance both productivity and safety.
• Health and Safety Expertise: Demonstrated ability to model and promote safety behaviors, contributing to an injury-free workplace and an interdependent safety culture.
• Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis: Experience in conducting thorough investigations into HSE incidents, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Knowledge of HSE Management Systems: Familiarity with international standards for HSE management systems and applying them within the workplace to achieve external certifications.
• Risk Assessment Proficiency: Ability to evaluate workplace hazards using risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to minimize risks.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• A two-year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related field is required.
• Significant work experience with in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and experience in health, safety, environmental, or related fields.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

• OSHA 10 certification required .
• OSHA 30 certification desirable .
• 5-7 years of experience in Industrial HSE within manufacturing or automotive sectors.
• Active presence on the shop floor to observe HSE practices and maintain interactions with employees and contractors.
• The role will include delivering various HSE training programs.
