Summary Sprouts Montessori is seeking a
warm, nurturing, and ambitious Head Teacher to join our small private Montessori Primary school community. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and creating a peaceful learning environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive.
We are a
Montessori Primary program for ages 3–6 , offering a calm and engaging classroom with mixed-age preschool and kindergarten children. Our environment supports independence, creativity, and a love for learning through hands-on experiences and respect for the child.
Duties - Lead & guide the classroom environment using Montessori principles — preparing materials, maintaining order and beauty, and fostering independence in children.
- Observe, assess, and support each child’s development, ensuring individualized learning paths and documenting progress.
- Present Montessori lessons and activities in Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, and Cultural areas, based on readiness and interest.
- Model gentle, respectful communication and classroom management, nurturing a calm, peaceful environment rooted in grace & courtesy.
- Collaborate with school leadership and families, communicate regularly about progress, and support community events and school culture.
Requirements Requirements (any of the following): • Head Teacher Certificate from the Office of Early Childhood –
preferred • OR Early Childhood Education Degree
• OR 12+ ECE credits with classroom experience
• Passionate about teaching and child development
• Warm, gentle, patient, and nurturing
• Enjoys working in a small school community
• Montessori training or certification preferred
• Early Childhood/ Education college students welcome to apply.
Nice To Haves • Background in Montessori education, training, or certifications (AMI/AMS or equivalent)
• Experience working in a mixed-age classroom (ages 3–6)
• Comfort preparing and rotating Montessori materials to support developmental needs
• Strong classroom observation skills and ability to follow the child’s interests
• Familiarity with child-led, respectful discipline approaches
• Creativity in planning enrichment activities (art, nature, cultural studies)
• Ability to communicate warmly and professionally with families
• Passion for outdoor learning and nature-based play
• Interest in continuing professional development in Montessori & early childhood fields
