Position Summary
Momentus Capital’s Marketing and Communications team is seeking an energetic, creative, media savvy college student interested in event planning and marketing. This position will have a specific focus of creating event and marketing materials, assisting with preparation for both in-person and virtual events, managing inventory, providing administrative support, and assisting the Marketing and Communications team as needed.
This is a part-time, temporary position (20-25 hours/week). The ideal candidate is located in Washington DC or Arlington, VA and will primarily work remotely. This internship will end on 10/31/2025. Mass Communications, Marketing, and Hospitality majors preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
● Create event & marketing materials.
● Assist in the preparation and facilitation for both in-person and virtual events.
● Manage inventory of marketing materials and swag.
● Research toolkit items, events, and best practices.
● Create timelines, trackers, forms, and resource guides.
● Collaborate to achieve common goals, projects and solutions.
● Support other Marketing & Communications projects.
Event-Specific Responsibilities:
Attendee Management:
● Maintaining and updating attendee lists.
● Creating, printing, and preparing name tags.
● Sending out RSVP reports.
Logistics & Planning:
● Assistance with scheduling vendor meetings and site visits.
● Preparing meeting agendas and materials.
● Designing filing systems for easy archival and retrieval.
● Maintaining files for regular meetings and events.
On-Site Support:
● Providing on-site assistance during events, including setup, coordination, and teardown.
● Managing event schedules.
● Ensuring everything runs smoothly and according to plan.
Reporting & Communication:
● Collecting and cataloging past event information, data, and pictures.
● Producing event reports as needed/requested.
● Maintaining and updating the events calendar.
Requirements
● Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (Mass Communications, Marketing, or Hospitality) or equivalent experience.
● Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing or event operations/planning.
● Must have a passion for events, customer service, and the hospitality industry.
● Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects while maintaining an organized environment.
● Must possess a strong attention to detail.
● Must possess excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
● Must possess excellent internet, social media, and research skills.
● Must be comfortable working in a team environment, but also capable of functioning independently.
● Must be proficient in Canva, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite products.
● Must be able to work in a hybrid office setting.
● Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $18 - $20 an hour.
This role is primarily remote with in office activities, must be able to go in when required (about once a month).
