Job Description:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will develop and apply advanced electrical engineering design methods, CAD tools, theories, and research techniques to solve complex technical problems. Responsibilities include:
- Remaining current with modern engineering concepts through personal initiative and continuing education.
- Coordinating with peer engineers and project personnel to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collecting aircraft data for panels, instruments, and systems, designing simulation solutions.
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to develop design solutions for computational, network, and data storage requirements.
- Participating in internal and customer design reviews.
- Creating lighting and power distribution designs for simulation models.
- Creating system, cable, and harness drawings for flight simulation products.
- Analyzing and interpreting advanced technical data using knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems.
- Ensuring proper information flow within the design team.
- Preparing work packages and reviewing junior engineers’ design outputs.
- Developing methodology to resolve technical problems.
- Reviewing internally developed technical publications for accurate representation of electrical products.
- Authorizing documentation for release/change.
- Developing engineering orders and documenting engineering change notices to reflect design evolution.
Skills/Experience Required:
- BSEE with 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in the simulation industry.
- Working knowledge of CAD applications (preferably MicroStation).
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts and practices.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70: National Electrical Code and IEC standards.
- Proven ability to design electrical solutions from OEM data.
- Proficiency in software like MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Ability to develop spreadsheets and databases.
- Familiarity with Mil Specifications & Standards/ANSI is a plus.
- Eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Security Responsibilities:
- Must comply with all company security and data protection policies and procedures.
- Responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials.
- Shall not divulge information to unauthorized personnel or external parties without management approval.
- All government and proprietary information will be stored electronically on company-provided resources.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this role due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
Work Environment:
- Work near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
- Exposure to hazardous materials and risk of electrical shock.
- Environment may be loud (manufacturing/heavy equipment).
Physical Demands:
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Must be able to lift 25-35 pounds.
- Color vision required to identify and distinguish colors.
