Director of Training - High-End Security Company

Location: Canoga Park, CA
Salary: $160,000 - $190,000 annually (based on experience)
Status: Exempt

Position Summary:
High End Security company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Training to create, manage, and drive the development of our training division. As the Director of Training, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of excellence within our Residential and Executive Protection teams. You will be responsible for ensuring top-tier tactical preparedness, professionalism, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This is a director-level position ideal for someone with experience in building and leading training programs within the security industry, and who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and develop the company's training division, ensuring alignment with Black Box Security's overall goals.
Build a culture of professionalism, tactical expertise, physical fitness, and adherence to company standards.
Design and implement comprehensive training programs, including classroom instruction, situational simulations, on-site scenario training, and one-on-one coaching.
Conduct training for both agents and administrative staff, as well as external groups as needed.
Identify qualified external instructors, review their curricula, and integrate them into the training program.
Administer and record physical fitness exams, ensuring agents meet qualification requirements.
Oversee tactical training, firearms certifications, and first aid training, ensuring all personnel are properly equipped for their roles.

Collaborate with leadership to develop and refine SOPs based on industry best practices.
Ensure team members align with the latest SOPs, conducting regular training to maintain high standards.
Conduct site visits and quality assurance reviews to ensure SOP compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Training Coordination & Scheduling:

Develop and manage a comprehensive training calendar, scheduling sessions for firearms, tactical skills, first aid, and certifications.
Ensure training programs meet the evolving needs of the company and agents.
Vendor & Resource Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, certified instructors, and venue owners.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality, cost-effective training resources.
Oversee training-related budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Stay informed about industry trends and continuously evaluate new training tools and methodologies.
Program Ownership & Innovation:

Take full ownership of the training program, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Provide regular updates to the CEO regarding training progress, initiatives, and challenges.
Ensure compliance with BSIS regulations and other relevant certifications in collaboration with the HR department.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in a leadership and training role within the security industry, especially in residential security or executive protection.
In-depth knowledge of tactical, physical, and security training methodologies.
Successful experience building training programs from the ground up.
Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
Familiarity with BSIS regulations and industry compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills:
Certifications in relevant security or training programs (PPS, EP, etc.).
Background in law enforcement, military, or high-level residential security operations.
Proven ability to implement innovative training strategies and solutions.
