Title: Director of Product - Infrastructure & DevOps Platform
Location: Hybrid | Cambridge, MA (Onsite 2x/week)
Compensation Expectations:
- Base salary: $200,000 - $230,000 annually
- Annual bonus & equity within a publicly traded company
Role Overview
Lead platform product strategy for a major drug company’s tech innovation hub, functioning as a startup unit within a large corporation. Oversee the platform portfolio that includes infrastructure, DevOps, governance, AI/ML, and compute power, working cross-functionally with engineering, program, and R&D teams. Manage direct reports and expand the team over the next six months.
Role Duties
- Manage three product managers, with headcount expansion to five
- Drive technical product strategy for platforms spanning infra, DevOps, AI/ML, cloud, and compute
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, program management, and R&D teams
- Oversee platform lifecycle, from design through deployment and monitoring
- Represent product needs and innovations to internal and external stakeholders
- Set technical vision and roadmap for platform capabilities across cloud and distributed computing
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in infrastructure, cloud, or distributed systems
- At least 2+ years in engineering management or product development
- Advanced degree required: Master’s or PhD in a technical field (computer science, engineering, information technology, or related discipline)
- Cloud platform experience - preferably with GCP.
- Technical expertise: Python, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (including GKE), Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, observability & monitoring tools
- Experience with ML and distributed compute frameworks (Slurm, Weka, MPI, Singularity)
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks: HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC2
- Infrastructure as code, preferably with Terraform
- Proven ability to translate technical requirements for cross-functional teams
