Position: Detention Officer

Pay Rate: $22.95 per hour

Responsibilities

• Maintain order, safety, and security of residents in a correctional facility.
• Provide direct supervision of inmates/residents during housing, meals, recreation, work assignments, and other activities.
• Work across multiple duty areas (e.g., housing units, armory/key control, kitchen, medical, visitation).
• Use approved methods—including, when necessary, weapons or force—to maintain discipline and order.
• Be able to work any post assignment on any shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must complete pre-service correctional officer training.
• State security officer license (if applicable).
• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
• Ability to complete required training to meet contract standards.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
