Job Description

Status: Full time

Hours: 40 hours/week
Company Sponsored Time: We have a 4-day, 32-hour work week, and YWCA will provide this role 8 hours of Company Sponsored Time for you to use on Fridays to maintain work-life balance while maintaining pay at 40 hours a week.

Pay: $33.65/hour to $36.40/hour

Mission:

  • Assure that participants, staff, volunteers, and community partners are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, ethnic background, gender or socioeconomic background.

  • Think through the lens of racial equity and its intersections with poverty. Use the core principles of anti-racism and grounding those principles in all daily tasks
  • Incorporate the YWCA’s commitment to social justice by understanding how racism, sexism, classism, and other oppressions intersect and are embedded in institutions. Seek opportunities for continued learning about racial, gender and class equity.

Corporate & Community Fundraising

  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with corporate and community partners to secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and financial contributions.
  • Develop and maintain sponsorship materials, in-kind donation processes, and corporate recognition strategies.
  • Lead the sponsorship strategy and solicitation for Shine Gala, Holiday Shop, QueerCouve, BIPOC Youth Summit, and other programmatic or philanthropic events.

Track engagement, recognition, and giving history of partners in CRM.

  • Partner with communications team to highlight corporate and community partners across digital and print platforms.
  • Support the Adopt-A-Room campaign by collaborating with philanthropy team members and integrating messaging into corporate partner conversations.

Event Management

  • Plan and manage philanthropic-focused events such as Shine Gala and Holiday Shop, including event logistics, sponsorship fulfillment, and day-of execution in collaboration with event planning contractors.
  • Coordinate with program and communications teams to support messaging, branding, and storytelling for events.

Outreach & Community Presence

  • Develop and implement an annual outreach and tabling strategy that aligns with fundraising and community awareness goals.
  • Represent YWCA at tabling opportunities, community fairs, networking events, and business forums.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator on staffing community tabling events, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Volunteer Engagement and Supervision 

  • Lead the strategy and execution of corporate and group volunteer engagement, including outreach, logistics, and post-engagement stewardship.
  • Supervise the Volunteer Coordinator, who manages individual and event-based volunteer engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator and program staff to develop meaningful, mission-aligned volunteer experiences.
  • Ensure clear communication and coordination with the Volunteer Coordinator for scheduling, logistics, and volunteer follow-up.
  • Support the creation and distribution of branded corporate service day materials, including onboarding packets, signage, and impact summaries, in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator and Database Manager.
  • Track corporate volunteer participation and analyze conversion into sponsorship opportunities; contribute insights to development pipeline reporting.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate partnerships, fundraising, marketing, or community relations.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-building, event planning, and donor or sponsor cultivation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Familiarity with CRMs and tracking sponsorship and donor engagement.
  • Commitment to racial and gender equity, with experience applying equity principles to community engagement work.

Strong ability to lead: supervisors make sure the day-to-day work gets done; leaders do so while strategically motivating staff and volunteers to improve performance and further the mission of the organization. 

Ability to work in a team: modify the way a challenge is resolved if it is in the best interest of the organization and participants to do so. 

Strong project management skills: maintain a strategic focus while simultaneously managing multiple projects, deadlines, goals, and program needs. 

Strong problem-solving skills: resourceful and able to resolve challenges while knowing when it’s time to stop and ask questions or seek additional guidance. 

Strong technological skills: effectively use common software programs (like MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint) to fulfill position related expectations. 

Strong soft-skills: adapt work and communication style to mitigate unnecessary tension, improve efficiency, increase morale, and make programmatic improvements with little or no prompting.
