Building Envelope Project Manager

Location: Houston, Texas

About the Company:
We are a well-established, independent engineering consulting firm with over two decades of experience specializing in building systems. Our work focuses on high-performance weatherproofing envelopes-including roofing, waterproofing, curtain walls, cladding-as well as structural components like parking garages and pavements. Known for practical and cost-effective solutions, we operate with complete independence, maintaining no financial ties to contractors, suppliers, or manufacturers.

Position Overview:
We're looking for a seasoned Building Envelope Project Manager to join our Houston-based team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical skills in building envelope consulting and a solid background in project management. You'll take ownership of projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage all phases of building envelope projects. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants to deliver on time and on budget.

  • Design & Documentation: Develop repair and restoration designs, including construction drawings and technical specifications for a variety of envelope systems.

  • Field Investigations: Lead on-site forensic assessments of envelope performance issues. Prepare detailed evaluation reports and recommendations.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct field inspections, review submittals, respond to RFIs, and implement QA/QC protocols throughout construction phases.

  • Client & Proposal Management: Develop proposals, define project scopes and budgets, participate in business development, and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (PE, RA, or relevant certifications like RRO/RRC/RWC a plus)

  • 4+ years of direct experience in building envelope consulting

  • Strong understanding of building science, materials, and enclosure performance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with technical writing, including reports and specifications

  • Familiarity with relevant software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe, Bluebeam)

  • Ability to travel as needed for projects

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Comprehensive insurance package

  • Paid vacation and holidays

  • 401(k) plan eligibility

  • Support for continuing education and professional development
